Materials Needed:

Students are expected to bring the following materials to class every day:

  • Textbook
  • Notebook
  • Scientific Calculator
  • Paper and pencil/pen (blue or black ink only)

Classroom Rules:

  1. Respect your classmates and teacher and their property.
  2. Be in your seat with your materials ready when the bell rings.
  3. Participate in all class activities.
  4. Follow school rules.  (See the student handbook!)
  5. Do your best and be a positive influence on the class.

Grading:  (Subject to change, however you will be notified of any changes)

                        Tests:                                                                                      50%

                        Homework/Classwork, Science Journal & Labs:                    25%

                        Quizzes:                                                                                  25%

Procedures and Expectations:

Notebooks:

  • Students should keep a notebook containing all class materials, neatly organized by date.

Classwork/Homework:

  • All work should include your name and the date.
  • Bookwork should also include page numbers.
  • Students will have science/math homework nearly every night.  This will involve reviewing/summarizing class notes, completing assignments, and working on projects.

Make-up work:

  • It is the student’s responsibility to check for missed work and turn in the completed assignment in a timely manner. (See student handbook for additional details.)
  • Missed labs will be made up by completing an alternate assignment.  It is the student’s responsibility to ask for the alternate assignment.

Late work:

  • Students are expected to complete and turn in all assignments on time!  Points are deducted when assignments are not turned in on time.
  • Students who have missing work will not be allowed to take major tests until the assigned work has been completed.  Students who have missing assignments will be allowed to work on their missing tasks during the test, but will have to make up the test on their own time.
  • The deadline to complete ANY assignment from a unit is one week after the unit test.  Any work not completed at that time will remain a zero, including the unit test.

Movement in the Classroom:

  • Move without disturbing others.
  • Only one student at a sink, garbage can, or pencil sharpener at a time.
  • The teacher’s desk area is off limits to students unless specific permission is given.
  • Do not interrupt the class during teacher-led activities.

Hall Passes:

  • Students are only allowed out of class for emergencies.

Teacher Comments:

This is YOUR education, and YOUR future.  Take responsibility!  If you need extra help to master the course material, please let me know as soon as possible.  The earlier we identify an issue the sooner we can begin working to correct it!  My goal is for every student to be successful in class!
