Patrons, parents, students and employees of USD 421 are hereby notified that USD 421 is in compliance with the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act of 1986. All the buildings in the district have been inspected for asbestos and an Operation and Management Plan is on file as the Board of Education Office. This information is available to any interested party during regular business hours (7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily).
A certified contractor has removed asbestos in several location in prior years. The remaining asbestos exists in some areas of floor tile and floor tile glue. The remaining asbestos will have periodic inspection and repair if necessary. The state required asbestos inspection is once every three years. The district is current on required asbestos inspections. Jerry Jacobs, Maintenance Director, USD 421 Lyndon, is the Local Education Agency’s designated person for asbestos.
